Dr. Zhenmei Zhang honored for research in aging

MSU AgeAlive will present the Research in Aging Award to Dr. Zhenmei Zhang, Professor of Sociology, at their annual meeting Dec. 7.

"We will give well-deserved recognition to individuals who have contributed so much to the wellbeing of older adults and others," said MSU AgeAlive.

In addition to Dr. Zhang, awards will be presented to:

  • David C. Zhu, Ph.D., and Dr. rer. nat. Norman Scheel (Ph.D., Dipl.-Inf.), College of Human Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Radiology
  • MSU Community Volunteers for International Programs (CVIP), in recognition of leadership in fostering intergenerational experiences.
  • James Levande, Ph.D., for a long and outstanding history of service to others that improves quality of life and wellbeing for individuals and society.

The ceremony will be held over Zoom. All are welcome to attend.

MSU AgeAlive is a campus program for all ages, committed to documenting, connecting and enhancing aging related research, education and services. Special emphasis is on student and faculty success, community partnerships, and intergenerational, life-enriching activities that support health and wellbeing throughout life. AgeAlive’s institutional home, the Department of Family and Community Medicine in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the AgeAlive Leadership Council make everything we do possible.
